Stukel Stone Collaborating with WEFT

In Architecture, Performance Design by Stukel Architecture

Stukel Stone is excited to be developing textile products with WEFTshop, with the goal being to honour traditional Burmese weaving and fabrication techniques while maximizing the appeal of the textiles to Australians now. We experimented with a traditional Lahu applique method called Hka Pa Hpui Tcuh, meaning dogs teeth, to produce a unique and contemporary yoga strap. These designs were then interpreted and sampled by WEFTshop artisan Ya Mi on the Thai Burma border. Ya Mi was excited to help create new textiles based on her traditional skills.
